The Altar of Repentance ~ 1 Samuel 15. While sorrow and regret can be part of repentance, it's not just about feeling bad; it's about a fundamental shift in one's perspective and actions. Repentance involves acknowledging that one has sinned and turning away from that sin, both in thought and deed. It is a turning towards God, seeking His forgiveness and a renewed relationship with Him. It requires a change in one's inner motivations and beliefs, a willingness to see things from God's perspective. Repentance, therefore, is a continuous process of seeking to live a life of faith and obedience with God's will. Repentance often involves confessing one's sins to God and seeking His forgiveness. In response to this repentance by the nation of Israel and to individual people, God forgives and restores.
